  • Familiarity with 3D coordinate systems and transformations typically used in robotics.
  • Experience with processing sensor data, which could include point clouds or images.
  • Familiarity with sensor fusions concepts, for instance, relevant application of Kalman filtering.
  • Be a team player with good oral and written communication skills, willing to document and openly communicate work results with the team, taking feedback gracefully.
  • Willingness to stay up to date with the state of the art in robotics and continually improve skills.

Bonus points will be awarded for any of the following:

  • Experience with managing big robotics datasets and robotics simulations.
  • Knowledge or experience with factor graphs and factor graph optimization.
  • Experience working with a variety of sensors, e.g., cameras, LIDAR, RADAR.
  • Experience with Visual-Inertial odometry and SLAM.
  • Interest in machine learning.
  • Having published in high-impact robotics journals or conferences.

In your first six months, you will be:

  • Participating in test flight missions, collecting data.
  • Understanding the challenges we are facing in developing autonomy systems for airborne platforms.
  • Designing and implementing algorithms, e.g., supporting object detection or visual navigation.
  • Contributing ideas to the future direction of our work.

Like the rest of the Animal Dynamics team, you’ll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary in the region of £35,000 - £50,000 p.a, dependent on capability demonstrated through selection process

About Us

At Animal Dynamics we are motivated to create original and worthwhile solutions to real problems. We make vehicles that combine high efficiency with full autonomy and will positively disrupt industries and technical approaches that have long been taken for granted.

We take our inspiration from animals and the natural world. Our current focus is on Stork, a family of vehicles which have been designed as highly energy and cost-efficient aerial systems for carrying loads. These vehicles are full-stack autonomous vehicles, with complex mechanical, electronic and software features.

Based near Oxford, we are a friendly, innovative Company which is growing rapidly. We recruit talented, committed people who want to work in a stimulating and supportive environment.
